Justin Bieber to open own store - Justin Bieber is planning to open his own store

Justin Bieber to open own store

Justin Bieber is in talks with the people who helped the Kardashian sisters launch their store to open his own clothing shop in a shopping centre in Los Angeles.

Justin Bieber is planning to open his own store.

The 16-year-old singing sensation is in negotiations with a company who helped Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian set up their Las Vegas boutique Khaos to develop a retail outlet at The Grove in Los Angeles.

The store in the upmarket outdoor shopping centre would see Justin lend his image to products ranging from shoes, skateboards and lollipops.

An insider told RadarOnline.com: 'They want to have everything Justin Bieber. They are also trying to find other Island Def Jam artists to be the face of some candy as well.'

No opening date has been set for the store yet but it is hoped it will be launched by the end of this year.

Last month Justin announced the launch of his collection of trading cards with Panini America.

The 'One Less Lonely Girl' hitmaker's merchandise also includes three CDs, a fragrance, a line of nail polish, T-shirts, mugs, aluminium water bottles, lunch boxes, headphones, dolls, Christmas tree ornaments, a Halloween wig and boxer shorts.

Malaysian maid wins Hong Kong lottery worth RM12 mil

The richest maid in the world is probably a Malaysian

Citing a China Press (a Malaysian Chinese paper) story, The Star (a Malaysian daily) reported that a Malaysian maid working in Hong Kong won more than HK$30 million (or RM12 million) in lottery money.

The middle-aged woman is employed at the mansion of casino tycoon Stanley Ho's fourth wife, Angela Leong. Ho is widely known as the "King of Gambling".

According to her employer's family, the lucky maid purchased a Mark Six lottery ticket on her birthday.

However, Angela Leong reportedly said she was unaware that any of her Malaysian workers had won the prize.

A monstrous mother

12-year-old raped by brother on mum's orders

AFTER being raped by her brother on her mother's orders, a 12-year-old girl was given over to a loan shark to settle her mother's debts.

Since the incident 14 years ago, the victim, who only identified herself as Lili, has turned to prostitution to support herself for the past eight years, reported Harian Metro.

'I blame my mother for my situation now. I will never forgive her,' said Ms Lili, 26. She said her ordeal began after she went back to stay with her family after living with an aunt for nine years.

'After I was raped, my mother gave me to her loan shark who repeatedly raped me... I escaped and told my aunt what my mother and brother had done and she made a police report,' said Ms Lili.

She added her family was in disarray because her mother had also 'sold' four other sisters of her 10 siblings.

Ms Lili was taken in by Malaysia's Welfare Department after her mother and brother were arrested, but moved to Kuala Terengganu once she turned 18 and started to work as a prostitute.

She has three children, two of whom she gave away. She is currently expecting her fourth child. She is caring for her third child but plans to put her fourth child up for adoption. -- THE STAR/ANN

Employees’ EPF payment back at 11%

KUALA LUMPUR: The monthly Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contribution for the private sector will revert to 11% effective January, from the current 8%.

“Employers must ensure that the correct amount is deducted from the wages of their employees based on the higher contribution rate and remitted to us,” EPF public relations general manager Nik Affendi Jaafar said in a statement yesterday.

Contributions from employees were reduced from 11% to 8% over a two-year period from January 2009 to December 2010.

Nik Affendi said employees who had previously submitted the KWSP 17A (AHL) special form to maintain the contribution rate at 11% during the two-year period, would not be affected.

> A Kuala Terengganu traffic policeman was pierced in the neck by an ornamental tree branch while trying to apprehend a motorcyclist on Sunday.

Kosmo! reported that Kpl Robuan Ahmad, 50, was on his way to work when he spotted a teenage boy riding a motorycycle without a helmet. The motorcycle also did not have a licence plate.

Kpl Robuan and another policeman gave chase on Jalan Lapangan Terbang in Gong Badak and Robuan rammed into the youth’s motorcycle to prevent him from escaping.

“Robuan was thrown on to the road divider and was pierced in the neck by a branch of an ornamental tree planted there,” said state police chief Datuk Jamshah Mustapa.

He said the youth managed to escape while Kpl Robuan was sent to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for surgery to remove the branch.

New cooking show for Angel Wong

Angel Wong's father, George used to cook for royalty.

By Fiona Ho

Multi-talented Angel Wong Chui Ling is set to launch a new cooking programme.

Hong Kong-born Wong, who is a celebrated TV and radio personality here, told The Daily Chilli in a recent interview at Delicious, One Utama, that she plans to get her father on the yet-untitled show.

“My dad was a former chef for royalty and I hope to pass on the knowledge that he has through my show,” she explained.

“It’s a bit hard to drag him out of retirement, though. He’s 63 now and all he wants is to have dim sum in peace,” she added with a laugh.

Besides her TV show, Wong is also working on her new iPad and iPhone applications.

Currently, Wong’s food app, aptly named Tastefully Chic is available on the app store for both the iPad and the iPhone.

“My iPad app is really a continuation of my second book, Tastefully Chic. It features all the best fine dining places in Kuala Lumpur,” said the bubbly TV host.

“Meanwhile, my iPhone app is more like a food directory that tells you where all the best fine dining places in KL are,” she added.

“I will launch two new apps after the Chinese New Year,” she revealed, adding they will also be lifestyle-centric apps.

Wong’s first book was a spin-off from her popular TV programme One Day Five Meals, which aired on Astro Wah Lai Toi.

The programme demonstrates how to stretch RM50 to cover five tasty meals a day.

Her other projects include a 15-minute daily radio show on MYfm and Hong Kong’s highly-rated travel programme,Tohoku Travel Blog.

Singer-actress Ngo Thanh Van is Vietnam's sexiest woman

Esquire magazine has chosen singer and actress Ngo Thanh Van as the sexiest woman alive in Viet Nam, the first time a Vietnamese woman was selected for the magazine's Sexiest Woman Alive Atlas, which anoints one woman per country.

In Asia, Chinese model Liu Wen and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were also included on the list.

Van, 32, has also been named 2010's most beautiful woman by Vietnamese magazines.

"All the selections are valuable," said Van. "I have to try my best to maintain a beautiful image."

Van moved to Norway with her family at age of 10 but returned to Viet Nam in 1999, when she participated in a beauty pageant sponsored by Vietnamese Women's World magazine, finishing as second runner-up.

She began a career as a pop singer in 2002 with the help of producer Quoc Bao and has since had a successful acting career, with roles in popular films like Sai Gon Love Story, 2 in 1, and The Rebel. She won the Best Actress award at the 15th Viet Nam Film Festival in 2007. Her latest movie, Oriental Pearl, will be released in March

Last year, she became the first champion in the Vietnamese version of Dancing with the Stars, and she has been active in supporting the charity Heartbeat Viet Nam, which sponsors heart operations for disadvantaged children.
