Italian wants divorce after honeymoon with mum-in-law

ROME - A FURIOUS 36-year-old Italian woman has filed for divorce just a month after her wedding because her husband brought his mother on their honeymoon, Ansa news agency reported on Wednesday.

As the couple set off for their honeymoon to France in December, the newly-wed was shocked to find her new mother-in-law at Rome's Fiumicino airport, all set to come on the trip, the agency cited her lawyers as saying.

When she protested, her husband of two days said he couldn't leave his mother alone for health reasons.

The three spent the honeymoon together, but as soon as they returned from France the woman filed for divorce, citing an 'excessive emotional attachment' between her future ex-husband and his mother. -- AFP

US woman kills dog because it chewed Bible

COLUMBIA (South Carolina) - AUTHORITIES have charged a US woman with felony animal cruelty, saying she hanged her nephew's pit bull from a tree with an electrical cord and burned its body because the dog chewed on her Bible.

Animal control officers said on Monday that 65-year-old Miriam Smith told them she killed a female dog named Diamond because it was a 'devil dog' and she worried it could harm neighbourhood children.

Authorities said bond wasn't immediately set for Smith, who remains jailed in Spartanburg County after her weekend arrest.

Officials said she didn't have an attorney yet.

She faces 180 days to five years in prison if convicted.

Authorities say the remains of the dog were found under a pile of grass with part of an electrical cord around its neck. -- AP

Charmaine suffers injuries after fall

TTVB actress Charmaine Sheh suffered joint dislocation on her left elbow and injuries on her legs after she slipped and fell on slippery ice at an airport.

The accident happened when she was about to return to Hong Kong after shooting in Hangzhou on Thursday.

Just as she got out of the car at the airport, Charmaine accidentally slipped and fell on the slippery ice.

Her left elbow hit the ground first, causing a joint dislocation. She was sent to a local hospital to get treatment.

Because of this, Charmaine has been forced to withdraw from Forensic Heroes III (FH3), in which she was scheduled to co-star with TV King Wayne Lai.

"My leg started to feel numb, the doctor examined me and said there is some pressure on my nerves. Right now, both of my legs hurt a lot."

She said she was also upset that her injuries had caused much trouble to Mui Siu-Ching, the procedure of FH3.

"The FH3 crew has already started shooting, they can't stop to wait for me."

Mui said she was eager to find a good actress to replace Charmaine now.

Asked if she had anyone in mind, Mui said: "Earlier, I had watched the scenes which Wayne and Kate Tsui did. They did them very well. I do hope to find a good actress."

Wayne, when responding to Charmaine's injuries, said: "I can't believe our first collaboration would fail. Did I give her bad luck?"

An honest trash collector in Taiwan returned NT1.1mil (RM115,659) which she picked up from the street to the owner.

Yang Huang Mu-dan, 67, also refused to take the three-per cent reward she was entitled to.

However, after much persuasion, she agreed to take a NT$3,000 (RM315) ang pow.

"I have not seen so much money before. If I take it, I would feel guilty for the rest of my life.

"The person who lost it must be very anxious," said Yang of Yilan, who earns a monthly household income of about NT$50,000 (RM5,254).

Her honesty has been highly praised by the police and her neighbours, most of whom said that Yang had made them proud.

Yang is respected for her honesty

Yang, who only received primary education, has been takings care of her six children alone after her husband died 25 years ago.

On Saturday morning, after collecting some recyclable items from the market, she found the bag containing the cash.

In an attempt to return the money, she rushed to the nearest police station, where she met the anxious accountant - identified only as Lin.

Lin said she was to have banked in the takings of her workplace. But as she walked to the car, her phone rang, so she placed the bag on the boot.

After answering the call, she drove away, completely forgetting about the bag.

The 37-year-old woman drove for about 1km before she realised what she had done.

She thanked Yang repeatedly.

Marriott to ban porn from hotel rooms - Marriott International has announced plans to phase out pay-per-view adult movies from its hotel rooms

Marriott to ban porn from hotel rooms

Marriott International has announced plans to phase out pay-per-view adult movies from its hotel rooms.

The decision was made after revenue from customers accessing porn through their in-room entertainment systems dramatically decreased and follows discussions over whether it was appropriate for their clientele.

According to USA Today, the American international hotel chain said: "Changing technology and how guests access entertainment has reduced the revenue hotels and their owners derive from in-room movies, including adult content."

Joe McInerney, CEO of the American Hotel and Lodging Association, added: "It is a hotel's prerogative, as well as a business decision, regarding what services it provides to its guests, including those striving to enhance their family-friendly image."

The plan will initially be executed in new hotels by replacing the old video systems with on-demand services.

A suicide bomber killed at least 35 people at Russia's busiest airport on Monday...

Suicide bomber kills 35 at Russia's biggest airport
By Alexei Anishchuk

MOSCOW, (Reuters) - A suicide bomber killed at least 35 people at Russia's busiest airport on Monday, state TV said, in an attack on the capital that bore the hallmarks of militants fighting for an Islamist state in the North Caucasus region.

President Dmitry Medvedev vowed to track down and punish those behind the bombing, which also injured over 150 people, during the busy late afternoon at Moscow's Domodedovo airport. The dead included some foreigners.

Islamist rebels have vowed to take their bombing campaign from the North Caucasus to the Russian heartland in the year before presidential elections, hitting transport and economic targets. They have also levelled threats at the 2014 Winter Olympics, scheduled for the Black Sea resort town of Sochi, a region some militants consider "occupied".

Dense smoke filled Domodedovo's international arrivals hall and a fire burned along one wall.

"Taxi drivers lined up in the arrivals hall were blown up. Pieces of their bodies covered us and my left ear doesn't hear very well at all," Artyom Zhilenkov, 30, told Reuters as he pointed to pieces of human flesh on his coat.

Thick drops of blood were scattered across the snow-covered tarmac outside the arrivals hall, where Interfax news agency said traces of shrapnel were found.

Two Britons were among the dead, media cited investigative committee spokesman Vladimir Markin as saying, and French, Italians, and Germans were in hospitals, though this could not be immediately confirmed with their embassies. Planes from across Europe had landed in the half hour leading up to the attack.

"I heard a loud boom... we thought someone had just dropped something. But then I saw casualties being carried away," a check-in attendant who gave her name as Elena told Reuters at Domodedovo, which is some 22 km (14 miles) southeast of Moscow.

The prosecutor's office said the bomb had been classified as a terrorist attack -- the largest since twin suicide bombings on the Moscow metro rocked the Russian heartland in March.

"The blast was most likely carried out by a suicide bomber".

State television said the blast was the work of a "smertnik", or suicide bomber. State-run RIA, quoting Markin, said the bomber most likely had a belt laden with explosives.

U.S. President Barack Obama condemned the "outrageous act of terrorism" and offered Moscow help. NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said he was shocked, state TV said.

A decade after federal forces drove separatists from power in Chechnya in the second of two wars, the mainly Muslim North Caucasus is wracked by violence.

Medvedev, who has called the Islamist insurgency in the North Caucasus the biggest threat to Russian security, wrote on Twitter: "Security will be strengthened at large transport hubs."

"We mourn the victims of the terrorist attack at Domodedovo airport. The organisers will be tracked down and punished."

Medvedev, due to open the World Economic Forum on Wednesday, delayed his Tuesday departure to the Swiss city of Davos.

No group has yet taken responsibility for the attack, but dozens of Internet surfers, writing in Russian, praised the suicide bomber on unofficial Islamist site kavkazcenter.com.

Russia's rouble-denominated stock market MICEX fell by nearly two percent following the blast, but traders said they expected little long-term impact.

"It (the blast) is moving the market in the short term, but there is no fundamental reason for the market to fall. If you remember, the market didn't react strongly to (previous blasts)," said trader Alexei Bachurin from Renaissance Capital.

However, analysts and insiders could change their tune if Russia sees a sustained a wave of such attacks, which could dent its $1.2 trillion economy, which is recovering from the global crisis.

The attack raised questions over Russian security -- one month after it won the right to host the 2018 World Cup.

SPREADING INSURRECTION

Twitter users posted mobile video phone footage of dozens of people lying on the floor amongst severed limbs and pools of blood as thick smoke filled the hall.

Airport staff were shown using flash lights to pick their way through the chaotic scene taped off immediately after the blast. Later videos showed emergency workers wheeling injured people out of the terminal on stretchers.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, who shares power in a 'tandem' arrangement with the less influential Medvedev, has staked his political reputation on quelling rebellion in the North Caucasus.

He launched a war in late 1999 in Chechnya to topple a secessionist government. That campaign achieved its immediate aim and helped him to the presidency months later; but since then insurgency has spread to neighbouring Ingushetia and Dagestan.

"It does not ... bode well for Russian ties to the North Caucasus and is yet another sign that what Putin started in 1999 by invading the rebellious republic of Chechnya has come home to roost again in the Russian capital," said Glen Howard, president of the U.S. Jamestown Foundation research institution.

Tensions between ethnic Russians and Muslims -- at 20 million they make up one seventh of Russia's population -- flared dramatically last month in a string of clashes, which involved thousands of Russian nationalists who attacked passersby of non-Slavic appearance, many of whom were from the North Caucasus.

Analysts say rebels are planning to increase violence in the run up to 2012 presidential elections, that may well see Putin returning to the presidency.

"It is a clear jab at the FSB (Federal Security Services) and at the elections," said Adil Mukashev, an independent expert on terrorism issues.

Security has been tightened at Moscow's other two airports, which will also receive diverted passengers who were flying towards Domodedovo, media reported.

Moscow suffered its worst attack in six years in March 2010 when two female suicide bombers from Dagestan set off explosives in the metro, killing 40 people.

The worst incident involving North Caucasus rebels took place in 2004 when militants seized control of a school in Beslan. When Russian troops stormed the building in an attempt to end a siege, 331 hostages, half of them children, were killed.

Bombing at Moscow airport called terrorist attack - Terrorists struck again in the heart of Russia, with a suicide bomber blowing himself up Monday...

Bombing at Moscow airport called terrorist attack

MOSCOW (AP): Terrorists struck again in the heart of Russia, with a suicide bomber blowing himself up Monday in Moscow's busiest airport and turning its international arrivals terminal into a smoky, blood-spattered hall of dismembered bodies, screaming survivors and abandoned suitcases. At least 35 people were killed, including two British travelers.

No one claimed responsibility for the blast at Domodedovo Airport that also wounded 180 people, although Islamic militants in the southern Russian region of Chechnya have been blamed for previous attacks in Moscow, including a double suicide bombing on the capital's subway system in March 2010 that resulted in 40 deaths.

President Dmitry Medvedev called it a terrorist attack and immediately tightened security at Moscow's two other commercial airports and other key transportation facilities.

It was the second time in seven years that Domodedovo was involved in a terrorist attack: In 2004, two female suicide bombers penetrated the lax security there, illegally bought tickets from airport personnel and boarded planes that exploded in flight and killed 90 people.

Medvedev canceled plans to travel Tuesday to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he aimed to promote Russia as a profitable investment haven to world business leaders.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin ordered the health minister to send her deputies to hospitals to make sure the injured were getting the medical care they needed.

Russians still look to the tough-talking Putin as the leader they trust to guarantee their security, and Monday's attack was likely to strengthen the position of the security forces that form part of his base.

Large-scale battles in Chechnya ended years ago, following two devastating wars that Russia waged with the republic's separatists, but Islamic militants have continued to carry out suicide bombings and other attacks. Most have been in Chechnya and other predominantly Muslim provinces in the southern Caucasus region, but some have targeted Moscow, including its subways, trains and even a theater.

In Washington, President Barack Obama condemned the "outrageous act of terrorism" and offered any assistance. Those comments were echoed by British Prime Minister David Cameron, who spoke with Medvedev and assured him of his complete support.

Monday's attack was most likely carried out by a suicide bomber and "attempts were being made to identify him," Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said, adding that the attacker appeared to have been wearing the explosives on a belt.

The blast came at 4:32 p.m., when hundreds of passengers and workers were in a loosely guarded part of the terminal. They were sprayed with shrapnel of screws and ball bearings, intended to cause as many casualties as possible.

The terminal filled with thick smoke as witnesses described a scene of horror.

"There was lots of blood, severed legs flying around," said Yelena Zatserkovnaya, a Lufthansa official.

Airport workers turned baggage carts into makeshift stretchers to wheel the wounded to ambulances outside, she said.

Amateur video showed a pile of bodies on the floor, with other dead scattered around. Luggage also was strewn around the terminal and several small fires burned. A dazed man in a suit pushed a baggage cart through the haze.

Driver Artyom Zhilenkov said he was standing just a few yards (meters) away from a man who may have been the suicide bomber. He saw an explosion on or near the man, whose suitcase was on fire.

Zhilenkov said he initially thought he himself had been injured, but doctors said he was just coated in the blood of others.

"The guy standing next to me was torn to pieces," he said.

Car rental agent Alexei Spiridonov, 25, was at his desk when the blast struck about 100 yards (meters) away and "threw me against the wall," he said.

"People were panicking, rushing out of the hall or looking for their relatives. There were people just lying in blood," Spiridonov said.

Sergei Lavochkin, who was waiting for a friend to arrive from Cuba, told Rossiya 24 television: "I heard a loud bang, saw plastic panels falling down from the ceiling and heard people screaming. Then people started running away."

The Emergencies Ministry said 35 people were killed, 86 hospitalized with injuries and 94 were given medical treatment. Among the dead were two British travelers, Markin said.

Domodedovo was briefly closed to air traffic immediately after the blast, but soon reopened. Hours later, passengers arriving for their flights lined up outside waiting to pass through metal detectors that had been installed at the entrances.

Aviation security experts have been warning since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that the crowds at many airports present tempting targets to suicide bombers. Arrivals halls are usually open to anyone.

"Airports are by their nature crowded places, with meeters, greeters, commercial businesses, and so on," said Philip Baum, the editor of Aviation Security International, a London-based publication.

The attack also called into question Russia's ability to safely host major international events like the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and the 2018 World Cup.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter was in St. Petersburg over the weekend to formally award Russia the 2018 World Cup. Prior to the signing, Blatter told Putin that he was certain FIFA had made the right choice.

Built in 1964, Domodedovo is located 26 miles (42 kilometers) southeast of Moscow and is the largest of the three major airports that serve the capital, handling more than 22 million people last year. It is generally regarded as Moscow's most modern airport, but its security has been called into question.

The airport insists security is one of its top priorities, saying on its website that its "cutting-edge operations technology guarantees the safety of passengers' and guests' lives."

It says 77 airlines offer regular flights to Domodedovo, serving 241 international and national routes.

Ketika Loki hendak pulang, Ariel menghampirinya dan menunjukkan rantai Ayla dan memberitahunya supaya melupakan Ayla kerana Ayla sudah tidak mencintainya lagi.

Apakah tindakan Loki seterusnya? Nantikan episod 15 Bukan Diriku untuk kesudahannya. Credits to and special thanks to: http://www.klurbanite.com
