Daughters plotted dad's murder - Two teenage daughters in Wales plotted the murder of their father, which involved stabbing him 15 times
Daughters plotted dad's murder
Holly, 16, has been sentenced to a total of 40 years for the brutal knife murder of their 61-year-old father Antoni.
Two teenage daughters in Wales plotted the murder of their father, which involved stabbing him 15 times.
The Daily Mail reported Ashleigh Robinson, 19, and her sister Hollie, 16, plotted to have Antoni Robinson, 61, killed after a dispute over their mother’s jewellery.
Shortly after the killing, Ashleigh sent her mother a text message that said, "Things happened, he is no more. Sorry mum. xxxx."
Robinson was stabbed 15 times with a kitchen knife and a seven-inch commando-style army knife by one of the girls’ boyfriends as he slept in his bed.
In the horrific attack, the jugular veins on both sides of his neck were slashed, causing him to bleed to death within minutes.
Sentencing the girls, Judge Griffith Williams condemned them as ‘Judas-like’.
He said, "It is to be hoped that in his dying moments he was at least spared the awful realisation that it was his own two daughters who were party to his murder.
"Two daughters who had appealed for his kindness. Two daughters who, Judas-like, wormed their way back into his affections. Not one of you has shown the slightest trace of remorse."
Robinson had split from the girls’ mother, Joanne Barr, after 25 years and there had been a series of rows.
The sisters believed that some of their mother’s jewellery, which was only of sentimental value, was in a safe in their father’s bedroom.
The court was told that they encouraged their boyfriends, Gordon Harding, 20, and Sacha Roberts, 19, to help in a bid to retrieve it.

Mother leaves fortune to animal charities
A mother left everything she had to animal charities after falling out with her only daughter over the naming of her child.
Melita Jackson decided to write her daughter out of her £486,000 (RM 2.4mil) will after she called her fifth child Ellen – the name of a sister-in-law Jackson did not like.
Heather Ilott, 50, who says her mother did not even support the charities, is challenging the will in the Court of Appeal.
John Collins, representing Ilott, said, "It is a picture of irrationality. It was not because she supported the charities, but simply out of spite."
Ilott first fell out with her mother in the late 1970s after leaving the family home in the middle of the night to live with her boyfriend and his parents when she was only 17.

Girl kills self after Facebook post - To the horror of her classmates, a troubled teenager died after falling from the second floor of her school

Girl kills self after Facebook post
Reports by MARTIN CARVALHO, RASHITHA A. HAMID, JOSHUA FOONG, K. ASHRAF KAMMED and CINDY TAN
MALACCA: To the horror of her classmates, a troubled teenager died after falling from the second floor of her school – just days after posting in her Facebook wall about wanting to take her own life.
In the 9.15am tragedy, Sally Lee Qian Chun, a Form 5 student, abruptly walked out during the Chemistry lesson in the laboratory on the first floor and went to her classroom a floor above.
Witnesses in SMK Seri Kota in Ayer Leleh were shocked to see Lee, 17, sitting precariously on the corridor ledge facing her empty classroom before she fell backwards. She suffered fatal head injuries.
A close relative who refused to be named said Lee’s family, from Taman Bukit Katil, Bukit Katil, was puzzled as to why she would want to take her own life.
“She seemed happy during Chinese New Year.
“I even saw her on Monday and she looked fine and happy,” he said when met at the Malacca Hospital mortuary here yesterday.
However, it was a different story in Lee’s Facebook. Since Jan 17, she had posted several disturbing comments on her wall, even saying this would be her last Chinese New Year.
Her posting became more troubled last Friday when she wrote that she had planned to take her own life last month.
On Sunday night, at around 11.07pm, Lee lamented on her Facebook of a failed relationship and broken promises while reiterating her desire to take her own life.
Her remarks drew some taunts and dares from her online friends. Some commentators even asked her to go ahead with what she wanted to do.
In her last posting at 3.45pm on Monday, Lee reminded her friends to keep their promises of buying her a teddy bear and coffin. She also told them not to miss her when she was gone and to take care of themselves.
Lee, the eldest and only girl with two younger brothers, was described by teachers as a bright and well-behaved student. Her parents were too distraught to be interviewed.
State MCA chairman Datuk Gan Tian Loo arranged for a meeting at the school for Lee’s relatives to meet with several of her classmates.
Deadly plunge: The spot where Sally fell to her death yesterday from the second floor of her school block in SMK Seri Kota, Malacca “The family is in shock and unable to accept that Lee would want to take her own life.
“They wanted to find out from her friends as to what had happened,” he said when met here.
Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Salehhudin Abd Rahman said the case was classified as sudden death.
Last December, a 22-year-old man took his own life after another failed relationship. He posted, also on Facebook, a 45-minute countdown to his suicide.
The youth jumped from the 14th floor of an apartment block in Cheras.
It was reported that the man became depressed after his girlfriend of four months broke up with him.

Retiree finally parts with his 40-year-old headgear
KUALA LUMPUR: A man who had not changed his motorcycle helmet for 40 years became an instant star with the media when he had his headgear exchanged for a new one.
Chow Hing Loong, 64, was riding along Jalan Imbi when he was stopped yesterday by Road Safety Department (JKJR) officials, who were giving out free helmets as part of its road safety advocacy campaign.
The bubbly retiree amused those present when the inner lining of his half-shell helmet fell off.
The lifespan of the helmet was, in fact, extended only by strips of double-sided tape.
Falling apart: Suret (right) looking at the 40-year-old helmet belonging to Chow (third from left). Also pictured were (from left) Road Safety Marshal Club Captain K. Balasupramaniam and JKJR Federal Territory director Muhammad Heeza Hasan. “The new generation of helmets are not comfortable. The old ones, like mine, are more cooling,” he said.
JKJR director-general Datuk Suret Singh proceeded to help buckle the new helmet on Chow.
Suret said that at least 170,000 of such helmets have been distributed to motorcyclists since July 2008.
Costing RM50 each, an estimated RM8.5mil has been spent on the programme.
“A helmet is only good to be used between three to four years. Those that we have collected from this campaign (for failing Sirim’s requirements for safety) will be destroyed,” Suret said.
He reiterated that the objective of the campaign was to ensure that motorcyclists and pillion riders wore helmets and were buckled up safelyRead more/More news on: http://thestar.com.my/news/

Kind woman eaten by stray dogs
A kind pensioner in Russia was eaten "to the bone" by a pack of stray dogs - after she took the animals into her home to live with her.
Police found the remains of Tatyana Konstantinovna, 62, alongside the corpses of her 11 dogs - who had starved to death after feasting on their new owner.
Detectives investigating the deaths, however, are uncertain whether she suddenly died or was killed after an attack by one of the dogs.
A spokesman said: "The animals had no food, and proceeded to eat her.
"They gnawed all the meat off her body, literally to the bone. "Then the dogs died as well from starvation."
Neighbours ignored the howls from the desperate dogs as they tried to escape from the flat because loud barking was normal from her army of strays.
It was only when the property went quiet that they realised something might be wrong.
Svetlana Kovaleva, who lived in the same block in Kemerovo, Russia, paid tribute to the tragic dog lover.
She said: "The dogs were her family, she had no real friends."
Neighbour Nina Shpizina added: "She had one or two dogs but recently started taking in hungry strays.
"It is so sad. She was all alone except for her dogs and then died such a terrible death."

Body of girl who was lashed to death exhumed
The body of a 14-year-old Bangladeshi girl who died after receiving about 80 lashes in public for allegedly having an affair with a married man, has been exhumed following a High Court order.
The body has been brought to the capital, Dhaka.
On Monday, the court ordered a three-member committee of doctors and experts to conduct another post-mortem to ascertain the reason for her death.
Hena Begum died a week after she was whipped about 80 times for allegedly having an affair with a married man
Hena Begum died a week after she was whipped about 80 times for allegedly having an affair with a married man
Hena Begum died a week after she received the punishment.
The girl was punished by villagers for her alleged crime last month.
The High Court order came after the initial post-mortem report said there was "no sign of any external or internal injuries to the body of Hena Begum".
Her family members said a village court consisting of elders and clerics ordered the lashing after allegations that she was having an affair with a married man.
"The court has also asked local doctors who did the first inquest and autopsy to appear before the court on the 10th of this month," Attorney General Mahbubey Alam told the BBC.
"We hope that by this time the new autopsy will be done and the report will be available before the court."
Four people have been arrested in connection with the death of Hena Begum. Police say they are looking for 14 others, including a religious teacher.
The court's order was partially in response to local media reports which alleged that there was a deliberate attempt to cover up the case as the news had put the local community under the spotlight.
This is the second reported case of a death linked to a Sharia law punishment since the practice was outlawed last year by the High Court

Hidden human cargo from S’pore
SINGAPORE: Some hide among empty bread crates being carted out of Singapore in lorries. Others slip between luggage bags in tour buses. Some even squeeze into modified speaker compartments in the back of cars.
Last year, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) seized 18 vehicles that were used to sneak immigration offenders out through the checkpoints.
That is more than double the eight vehicles that were seized in 2009, while the number of foreigners arrested for immigration offences was the lowest in 10 years.
The majority of these 18 vehicles were cars - and most bore foreign licence plates.
Mobile hideout: A modified speaker box of a car at Woodlands checkpoint was found to contain a Bangladeshi. — Picture courtesy of ICA However, also among the vehicles seized were a tour bus, a lorry and a 40-foot trailer.
Many of those who try to flee the country in this way are overstayers, runaway workers or illegal immigrants, said Superintendent Chia Hui Keng, who is also ICA’s head of public and internal communications.
“The drivers of these vehicles, who are mostly foreigners, also want to earn a quick buck,” she added.
Last July, a 29-year-old pregnant woman was arrested after she was found driving a car with an illegal immigrant in the boot.
The woman, Malaysian Chia Kiu Lim, told ICA officers that she was paid S$700 (RM1,664) by an acquaintance she knew only as “uncle” to take a 43-year-old Chinese national out through the Woodlands Checkpoint.
The Chinese national claimed she had been on a work permit only a few days before it was cancelled by her employer, and had continued to stay on illegally to earn money to pay off debts.
Eventually, she said, she paid a Malaysian middleman S$2,000 (RM4,755) to get out of Singapore.
She was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail and fined S$2,500 (RM5,944) for trying to leave Singapore illegally.
Others employ more elaborate ruses to avoid detection by immigration officers.
Two Malaysian men were nabbed, also last July, for modifying the speaker compartments in the boot of a car to hide a Bangladeshi national.
The ICA said more checks, coupled with the fact that immigration officers were better able to detect forged and altered passports, accounted for the rise in the seizure of vehicles last year.
Denied the option of using fake passports to exit, illegal immigrants resort to using vehicles as one of the more ‘creative’ methods to get out.
Many of these vehicles are modified at car workshops outside Singapore.
Said Supt Chia: “Our officers look out for extraordinary modifications or fittings that are not congruent with the overall design of the vehicle.”
Immigration officers also look out for nervous or fidgety drivers.
The penalty for conveying illegal immigrants in or out of Singapore is a jail term of two to five years, and at least three strokes of the cane. — Strait Times/Asia News Network
