Japan sets new record for chicken wing eating contest
More than 17,000 mostly beer-fuelled spectators packed a Philadelphia indoor arena recently for the city's annual early morning eating extravaganza in which competitors vie to eat the most chicken wings.
Japanese champion Takeru Kobayashi, weighing just 57.6kg defeated his much larger opponents in the 20th annual Wing Bowl and walked away with a US$20,000 (RM60,000) prize after devouring a record-breaking 337 chicken wings during the 30-minute contest.
The competitive eater easily smashed the previous record of 255 wings set by Jonathan 'Super Squibb' Squibb, who had won the celebration of gluttony the previous three years, and defeated local favorite Bill 'El Wingador' Simmons, a five-time champion who weighs 150kg.

Vincent Wong and Yoyo Chen tie the knot on 11-11-11

Vincent & Yoyo tie the knot on 11-11-11
This year, many couples choose to tie the knot on the auspicious-sounding 11-11-11 (Nov 11, 2011). Hong Kong TVB couple Vincent Wong and Yoyo Chen are part of the statistics. Unaffected by reports about Wong cheating on Chen with Cammi Tse - the 16-year-old ex-girlfriend of Edison Chen - the pair walked down the aisle yesterday, with the bride's fuller figure sparking speculations that she might be having a bun in the oven.
Could it be double happiness for the newlyweds? Looking busty in a low-cut wedding gown and sparkly pearl jewelry, Chen, 30, reportedly kept her tummy from view with her bouquet of flowers.
Asked whether his wife is pregnant, Wong, 28, said they wish to have a baby in the year of the dragon and are now working towards it.
The pair got misty-eyed at the event, with Chen admitting to be nervous at the beginning.
"However, when I walked in and saw all my dearest family and friends, I couldn't help but cried," she recalled. Meanwhile, the bridegroom blamed it on a runny nose.

Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, shine at MTV Europe Awards
Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, shine at MTV Europe Awards
Singer Lady Gaga poses with her awards following the MTV European Music Awards 2011, in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Sunday.
The MTV Europe Music Awards turned into a celebration of Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga last night as the two picked up a number of top prizes, including best male and best female act.
Gaga, striking in several outfits throughout the evening, also won for best song and best video for Born This Way. Bieber picked up best pop act as well.
Their live performances captured the differences between the two ascendant mega-stars: the teenage Bieber, wholesome and almost impossibly cute; Gaga challenging and aggressively sexual in her approach.
Other awards went to Bruno Mars, Eminem and Katy Perry while the band Queen received the "Global Icon" award, in effect a lifetime achievement award to the now-graying rockers, who closed the show with a spirited set of their classics, including We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions.
The show also included a video tribute to the late Amy Winehouse, who died earlier this year in London.
But the evening was dominated by Bieber and Gaga, the two crowd favourites.
The casually dressed Bieber said modestly that he had voted for competitor Kanye West and thanked his fans and family for his first award.
"Never say never, right?" he said, waving his trophy in the air.
After he won his second award, for best pop act, he praised his fans for staying with him despite "a lot of crap on the Internet," an apparent reference to unsupported allegations that he had fathered a child after a brief liaison.
Bieber took the stage a few minutes after Gaga accepted her award in characteristic style.
"Thank you so much, I love you so much. I'm so grateful. I'm really smiling right now, but I know you can't tell," said Gaga, wearing a bizarre silver dress with an oversize tilted hat that completely covered her face except for tiny holes that allowed her to see. She joked that she had had a lot of Botox treatment.
Gaga, who has enjoyed a year of spectacular commercial success, triumphed over a strong field that included a resurgent Jennifer Lopez, Adele, Katy Perry and Beyonce.
She later won awards for best video and best song for Born This Way. She thanked her "little monsters" for their support and said she regarded Born This Way as her most important work to date. She also won an award for having the best fan base. - AP

Wayne to star in "Rosy Business 3"
Following the success of Rosy Business and its sequel No Regrets, TVB has decided to shoot another sequel to the drama.
The male lead will be Wayne Lai, of course.
But Sheren Tang, who is currently busy filming in China, has yet to confirm if she has any time to film the series.
Rosy Business
Cheung Wah Biu, the scriptwriter of the previous two series who left TVB over a year ago, will return in October to partner producer Lee Tim Sing again in "Rosy Business 3".
Upon learning of the news, Wayne was extremely happy and and felt he could even win a third Best Actor award.
On his birthday in May, the actor made a wish that Cheung would return to TVB and his dream has come true.
Lee said it would be difficult for "Rosy Business 3" to have continuity from Rosy Business and No Regrets.
"The characters of Sheren and Wayne have already died and we can no longer continue with their stories.
"Perhaps there are some elements of continuity in the story, such as setting the time line in the 1960s or pre-modern period. The story will be not be dependent on the earlier series."
Lee said filming of "Rosy Business 3" would start in April 2012.

The wedding of Kate Moss and Jamie Hince reportedly cost £1mil (RM4.8mil).
The three-day event is said to have included a masked ball, acrobats, a £10,000 (RM48,324) five-tier cake and a fountain of Cristal champagne.
The supermodel also organised her own mini-festival, with performances from Shirley Bassey, Snoop Dogg, Iggy Pop, Bryan Ferry and Beth Ditto.
"Kate didn't mind paying for it because she wanted to thank all her friends and family who have stuck by her during some pretty rough times," a source told the News of the World.
"There was a huge chest of handmade Venetian masks that all had incredible detail and weird images on them. Baroque music, performing acrobats and a table of Venetian cuisine.
"And Jamie had a station serving wine. His rocker friends are also very fussy eaters so he made sure that there was a separate vegan and fish menu available.
"There was a dedicated children's marquee with a team of 10 nannies and two drama teachers to put on plays."
Guests at the reception, held at Moss's Cotswolds farmhouse, included Sir Paul McCartney, Jude Law, Sadie Frost, Meg Matthews and Naomi Campbell.
Moss also sent bottles of champagne and thank you notes to local residents, after nearby roads were closed for the occasion.

Jeff Conaway, who starred in TV's Taxi and the movie musical Grease passed away

'Grease' bad boy Jeff Conaway dies at 60
Actor Jeff Conaway, who starred in TV's Taxi and the movie musical Grease, has died.
Spokeswoman Kathryn Boole says the 60-year-old actor died Friday morning at the Encino Tarzana Medical Center, where he had been hospitalized in a coma since May 11. His manager, Phil Brock, has said Conaway had tried to treat himself with pain pills and cold medicine while in weakened health.
The actor had long battled drug and alcohol addiction, which he blamed in part on back problems and repeated surgeries. The reality series Celebrity Rehab showed his struggle for sobriety.
Conaway played high school bad-boy Kenickie in the 1978 movie Grease and appeared in the Broadway version of the musical.

Watch out for four auditions that are set to tale place in Johor, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Kuching, with the first one at Grand Paragon Hotel in Johor on April 17.
Only 30 would be selected from the auditions and only six finalists would have the chance to vie for the title at the grand finale on Oct 9.

Katie Price to host US reality show
Katie Price has reportedly landed a £1 million (RM4.92million) deal to present a US reality TV show.
The 32-year-old former glamour model - who travelled to Los Angeles last month for screen tests - will front the eight-part series 'Make Me A Hunk', where she will help transform a geeky guy in each episode.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It is a huge deal for Kate and she is thrilled. It is the biggest gig of her career to date and the first time she will have fronted a TV show."
Katie - who recently filed for divorce from cage-fighter Alex Reid after 11 months of marriage - is said to have won over producers with her acerbic wit and British charm and now the show is the focus of a bidding war between three big US networks, ABC, E! and CW.
The insider added: "Contrary to other reports, this deal was the reason she was in the States. American networks love all things British at the moment."
"They feel viewers will warm to Kate's-larger-than life personality and blunt put-downs - although producers were startled at how sarcastic and rude she was to the guy in the pilot episode."
" But it worked, she toughened him up and worked her magic."

Justin Bieber in wax
Justin Bieber met his wax likeness at Madame Tussauds in London, Britain, recently.
The teenage pop star could barely hide his excitement as he snapped a picture of himself with the figure, posted it on his Twitter and tweeted: "TWINS! Lol."
He joked in his next tweet: "knew [my mom] had more kids!"
It’s up to fans to decide on whether the figure looks exactly like the Canadian singer, but one apparent difference lies in the hairstyle, as the figure was created before Bieber cut his signature locks and went for a shorter hairdo last month.
That’s not going to be the only wax statue of the wonder boy, as more will be displayed in Madame Tussauds museums in New York, the U.S. and Amsterdam, Netherlands.

To celebrate the opening of the Pop-up store in Pavilion, Puma will be giving customers an opportunity to win a pair of Malaysian Grand Prix Garnet Grandstand Tickets worth RM 1,400 upon any purchase of Puma merchandise.
The first three shoppers of each day will also stand a chance to win a Puma Ferrari Cap.
