How to Creatively Decorate a Freshwater Fish Tank
Most of the people who own one fish or more have one thing in common--a plain, boring fish tank! Just a few minor touch-ups (or even a couple major ones!) can add life and something unique to any aquarium.
Consider the size of your fish tank- a good rule of thumb is to have a gallon of water for every inch on the fish. More space means more room for decoration, and happier fish!.
Add gravel accessories. You can buy a small bag of specially made, multi-colored 'rocks' that stay on the bottom of the aquarium. These, as well as entertain the fish, can be color coordinated to the gravel or room. They can come in shapes such as plus signs, shells, and more.
Attach an aquarium background. These can be made to look like a scene inside a river, the bottom of the ocean, a different (lushly decorated) aquarium, and more. The fish are stimulated by the image, and the backgrounds are easy to attach, move, and change. They also add depth and beauty to an aquarium.
Buy bigger, wider, bushier and prettier plants. As well as the selection of plants at the pet store, there is also a very wide variety of plants online- jut use a search engine like Google! Put plants you choose in different locations, and switch out occasionally. It doesn't matter whether or not the tank is lush with flora or down to just one plant, aquatic plants add a lot of beauty to an aquarium.
Look at the selection of tank rocks or accessories. Some people may prefer rocks that look natural; but shipwrecks, castle ruins, bridges, and scuba divers can be good choices too. Lots of fish like to swim around, under, and over bridges and accessories with open holes and spaces.
