Carina doesn't mind working with 'rival' Maggie

Contrary to popular belief, Carina Lau and Maggie Cheung are not enemies.

In fact, Lau, an established actress in Hong Kong, said that she does not mind collaborating with Cheung, who is now one of the most celebrated actresses in the international film scene.

For decades, the pair has been painted as rivals in love, as Lau’s husband, Hong Kong actor Tony Leung, was romantically linked to his frequent co-star Cheung, before he tied the knot with Lau in Bhutan.

Speaking to Leung’s ex-girlfriend Margie Tsang on a talk show recently, Lau, 45, showed no signs of feeling insecure over the close friendship her husband shares with Cheung, 46.

“I don’t know whether we will have the chance and the right script, but if we can star in a movie together, the poster alone will look great… Have you seen the poster of Infernal Affairs starring Tony Leung and Andy Lau? You don’t have to say anything and the audience would be eager to watch the film.

“If one day a director gets a script that is right for Maggie and I, I think that’d be one heck of a movie,” she said.
