Andy sends Sammi 999 roses
Could this spark off a reunion for the ex-couple?
How many stalks of roses does one need to patch things up with an ex? For Hong Kong singer-actor Andy Hui, it's 999 stalks.
Although it had been many years since singer Andy Hui and Cantopop diva Sammi Cheng split up, the couple has never quite untangled themselves from their past relationship.
Last year, Andy returned to being a bachelor after he was involved in a high-profile split from then-girlfriend Michelle Yu. At that time, many people expected him to patch things up with Sammi.
Although the pair has frequently denied news of a possible reunion, recent reports in Hong Kong media suggested otherwise.
According to Andy's close friend, the singer had requested the day off on Valentines' Day and ordered 999 stalks of roses during the Lunar New Year period. When asked by his friend if the flowers were for Sammi, Andy replied with a mysterious smile and neither acknowledged nor denied it.
On Feb 10, Sammi acknowledged that she had visited Andy's house during Lunar New Year when she and co-star Louis Koo attended the premiere of their latest movie.
The Cantopop diva also revealed that she had a date on Valentines' Day. When Sammi realised she had said too much, the singer quickly added that she was going for a dental check up.
When asked if she had received flowers from Andy, Sammi did not comment.
