PETALING JAYA: American socialite, actress and singer Paris Hilton will make a whirlwind 24-hour visit to Malaysia this month.
The popular reality TV star, who is a fixture in entertainment magazines and supermarket tabloids, will fly in from Tokyo on Sept 23.
Malaysia stop: Hilton will fly in from Tokyo on Sept 23.
She will launch her new fragrance called Tease and her Paris Hilton Fall/Winter 2010 handbag collection at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur the next day before leaving for Jakarta the same night.
Hilton, 29, who will be accompanied by her sister, Nicky, 27, will also hold a meet-the-fans session at the shopping mall.
Her trip to Malaysia, sponsored by Miwaki Sdn Bhd, the sole distributor of Paris Hilton handbags, and Prestige Products (M) Sdn Bhd, which distributes her fragrances, appears to be unaffected by her latest run-in with the law in the United States.
Despite being mocked as someone who is “famous for being famous” and criticised for her controversial personal life, Hilton has proven to be a shrewd entrepreneur and a celebrity with staying power.
To date, she has some three million fans following her on Twitter.
She has appeared in her own reality television series such as The Simple Life and Paris Hilton’s My New BFF.
Her self-titled album Paris debuted in 2006 and her first single, Stars Are Blind, was a top 10 single in 17 countries.
