VISITING A FRIEND'S HOUSE ON GAWAI DAY - SELAMAT HARI GAWAI (Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai!)

Opi is our host for today - He/She (Iforgot to ask whether is a female of male). The host of the house served us with much food and cakes/biscuits - Opi also enjoyed the meal together with us.

We were served with a lot of varieties such as lemang, pulut rice and ketupat, Orang Iban cooking style with meat rendang, duck meat cooked in dark soya sauce, chicken curry with potatoes and their speciality:

Ayam Masak Buluh i called it or (pansoh manok: ayam pansuh), having chicken and lemongrass cooked in a bamboo log over an open fire. This natural way of cooking seals in the flavours and produces astonishingly tender chicken with a gravy perfumed with lemongrass and bamboo. It is so yummy and you will always ask for more when you start eating the first piece of the chicken.

Let's have a good meal together. Selamat Hari Gawai (Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai!)

Murukku - Did not have a chance to eat Murukku as I was already feeling bloated

Forgot to ask what's the name of the biscuit.

A pitiful doggie. She is sick i guess - She did not enjoy herself on this day as she is not well.

Primary school nearby - On the way out from Simon's place, we passed by a primary school.

I wonder if the kids can concentrate well in their studies with this condition of school. It is so warm in there.
