Mariah Carey expecting a boy and a girl

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are expecting a boy and a girl.

The couple - who are due to have twins in April - have revealed they will be welcoming a baby of each gender into the world, and were surprised nobody had guessed their happy secret.

Mariah, 40, told Life & Style magazine: "Even before we announced it was twins, I was trying to keep everything gender-neutral because I didn't want to impose an identity on them too soon.

"There were fan contests on twitter about what gender they are and rumours about them being two boys or two girls - but nobody guessed this!"

Meanwhile, Nick - who broke the news the couple were expecting their first children back in December - confirmed they would be having mixed gender twins.

He told E! Online: "It's a touchy issue because you never want to say too much too early. If my wife says it's true, then it is."

The 30-year-old actor-and-comedian recently admitted he and Mariah have come up with some "unique" names for their unborn offspring.

Nick said: "They won't be getting crazy names like Carburetor or something. But they're definitely unique."

JAKARTA - Kabar duka datang dari penyanyi Syahrini. Ayahnya, H Dadang Zaelani, wafat pagi tadi.

"Iya, ayah mbak Rini sudah tidak ada tadi pagi, sekira pukul 04.50 WIB," papar Yesi, asisten Syahrini, saat dihubungi okezone, Jumat (28/1/2011).

Sejauh ini, orang terdekat mantan teman duet Anang Hermansyah itu belum bisa memberikan keterangan lebih dalam mengenai penyebab meninggalnya sang ayah.

"Mbak, saya tidak berani bilang penyebab meninggalnya apa. Nanti pengacara mbak Syahrini yang akan memberikan statement. Jenazah baru saja tiba di rumah," katanya.

Menurut sang asisten, kondisi Syahrini saat ini sangat terpukul atas kepergian ayahanda tercinta.

"Mbak Rini drop banget. Selepas salat Jumat, jenazah akan dikebumikan di Bogor," tutupnya.(ang)

Kelly Chen pregnant with twins

Cantopop singer Kelly Chen is pregnant again, this time, it's twins.

Kelly, who has a son - Chace Lau Sing, two - is very excited over the two new babies.

"I am pregnant, and it's over two months. It is time to announce the news, but I'm not sure if the twins are boys or girls yet."

Kelly admitted that the babies were conceived by artificial insemination.

"Yes, I chose artificial insemination, I wanted to have another one before 40 years old, so I got a little impatient as I’m already 38.

"Seeing that I wasn't really able to (conceive), the doctor suggested that I use this method.

"I'm afraid my physical strength won't be good enough if I have the baby any later, also greater risks."

Kelly said she just hoped to have a girl.

Asked how was her husband Alex Lau's reacted to the pregnancy, Kelly said: "He's okay too."

She added Lau Sing was yet to know that he would have two other siblings soon.

Kelly said she was so surprised and shocked upon knowing that she was carrying twins.

"When carrying Lau Sing, my belly was really big, so big that it looked like it was going to explode.

"This time with two babies, I should be like a giant. I'm afraid I won't be able to handle it."

“Luna datang sebagai bintang tamu. Lagunya juga hits kok. Dia kan penyanyi juga,” ujar pria yang akrab disapa Opa tersebut ditemui di Studio 6 RCTI.

Oke mengatakan, kapasitas Luna hadir di Dahsyat hanya sebagai artis dan penyanyi. Sebagai sahabat, dia mengaku senang Luna bisa hadir di Dahsyat lagi.

“Tidak dalam rangka Dahsyat Awards,” tegasnya.

Luna sempat tampil menemani Raffi dan Olga, juga penyanyi Afgan. Usai berbincang, Luna melantunkan single miliknya berjudul Tak Bisa Bersamamu, ciptaan Pasha Ungu.

Singer-actress Ngo Thanh Van is Vietnam's sexiest woman

Esquire magazine has chosen singer and actress Ngo Thanh Van as the sexiest woman alive in Viet Nam, the first time a Vietnamese woman was selected for the magazine's Sexiest Woman Alive Atlas, which anoints one woman per country.

In Asia, Chinese model Liu Wen and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were also included on the list.

Van, 32, has also been named 2010's most beautiful woman by Vietnamese magazines.

"All the selections are valuable," said Van. "I have to try my best to maintain a beautiful image."

Van moved to Norway with her family at age of 10 but returned to Viet Nam in 1999, when she participated in a beauty pageant sponsored by Vietnamese Women's World magazine, finishing as second runner-up.

She began a career as a pop singer in 2002 with the help of producer Quoc Bao and has since had a successful acting career, with roles in popular films like Sai Gon Love Story, 2 in 1, and The Rebel. She won the Best Actress award at the 15th Viet Nam Film Festival in 2007. Her latest movie, Oriental Pearl, will be released in March

Last year, she became the first champion in the Vietnamese version of Dancing with the Stars, and she has been active in supporting the charity Heartbeat Viet Nam, which sponsors heart operations for disadvantaged children.

Ryan Seacrest planning to propose

Ryan Seacrest is reportedly planning to propose to Julianne Hough soon.

The American Idol host and the Dancing With The Stars dancer went public with their romance last June and now friends have revealed the presenter has bought an engagement ring and is waiting for the perfect time to pop the question.

A friend said: "Ryan already has the ring - and it's a rock - four to five carats.

"Money was no object for Ryan - expect the Rolls Royce of engagement rings.

"He's had it for a while and is in the process of planning the engagement. It's going to happen within the next few months or so!"

Another pal refused to confirm or deny the report, but did admit 36-year-old Ryan has never been happier.

The friend told website RadarOnline.com: "If Ryan was planning to propose, why would I spoil the whole surprise for him?

"I don't think I've ever seen him like this over a girl before, ever... they fit together so perfectly.

"All his family adore her too, and I know his mom would be really happy to see him settle down with Julianne and work on giving her some grandchildren!"

Ryan recently denied he is already engaged but admitted he is smitten with Julianne, 22.

He said: "I'm not engaged. I'm very happy."

Michael Jackson took Propofol every day for months

Michael Jackson's doctor told police he had given the singer Propofol six nights a week for months before he died.

A preliminary hearing into the cause of the Thriller singer's death heard testimony from Los Angeles police detective Orlando Martinez on Jan 11, who said that in interview the singer's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, admitted he had been giving the later singer the powerful anaesthetic for two months before his death.

Michael was found dead from acute Propofol intoxication at his rented Los Angeles house on June 25 2009, while he was under the care of Dr. Murray - who has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

The doctor told police he was worried the Thriller singer had become addicted to Propofol - a powerful anaesthetic, not usually used outside hospitals - and had started to wean him off it two nights earlier.

According to the police interview with Dr. Murray, on the day of Michael's death he had administered 25 milligrams of the anaesthetic - about half the usual dose at around 10.40am, after the singer had complained about not being able to sleep ahead of rehearsals for his scheduled 50 comeback shows in London.

Orlando quoted Murray as saying: "Jackson began to complain that he couldn't sleep and that he would have to cancel his rehearsal and cancel his shows if he couldn't get any sleep since he couldn't perform."

Dr. Murray said after giving the dose of Propofol, he only left Michael alone for two minutes before returning and realising he wasn't breathing. However, the prosecution say emergency services show he didn't call paramedics until 12.21pm.

When questioned by police as to why he said this was, Orlando said: "He said he was caring for his patient and he did not want to neglect him,"

Earlier in yesterday's hearing, pharmacist Tim Lopez, owner of Applied Pharmacy Services in Las Vegas, where Murray has a clinic, testified to having supplied the doctor with 255 vials of Propofol during the three months before the singer died.

The four shipments of Propofol were purchased between April 6 and June 10, 2009, with most of the drugs shipped to the home of Murray's girlfriend in Los Angeles.

One of the key points the prosecution are hoping to convince the judge of is that the doctor was distracted when he should have been monitoring the singer but they claim he sent emails and made phone calls after administering the drug.

Earlier in the hearing, waitress Sade Anding testified she had been on the phone with the doctor at 11.57am, when he realised something was wrong.

She said: "I didn't hear him on the phone anymore. I heard commotion as if the phone was in a pocket, and I heard coughing, and I heard a mumbling of voices."

The hearing seek to establish there is enough evidence for Dr. Murray to face a full trial for involuntary manslaughter and continues.

It's no longer a secret. Local actress Sazzy Falak is pregnant with twins.

The Daily Chilli first heard about news of the babies in November last year, but had to swear to secrecy out of respect for Sazzy - who was observing the Malay pantang (taboo) during her first trimester.

As she is a first-time mum-to-be, the petite actress is taking all precautionary measures to sensure that the babies are safe during the early stage of her pregnancy.

Besides, she and her hubby had waited for four years for the miracle of life to happen.

The 29-year-old, however, has not stopped working despite her bulging belly.

The Gol & Gincu star has just wrapped up filming of her latest telemovie, Mimpi, in Dublin, Ireland.

Her husband, actor/model/financial coach Nazril Idrus is acting alongside her for the first time in the TV movie.

"Sazzy and Nazril are flying back to KL on Jan 13 (Wed). In spite of the blistering cold Irish weather, the first-time mum-to-be is as fit as a fiddle," said her manager, Kajai.

The twins are due in May.

A spokeswoman for 42-year-old Owen Wilson says he and his girlfriend are expecting a child together.

Publicist Ina Treciokas says Wilson and Jade Duell "are happy to be expecting a baby."

No other details were available.

Michael Douglas says his cancer is gone

Actor Michael Douglas says his tumour is gone and that he may have beaten throat cancer.

In a taped interview with NBC's Matt Lauer, Douglas said he felt relieved after a "wild, six-month ride." Excerpts of the interview were released Monday ahead of its airing Tuesday on "Today."

Douglas says the odds are that he has beaten the disease.

He said that he had lost 32 pounds (14.5 kilograms), but was now working out and had put 12 pounds (5.5 kilograms) back on. He said he'll continue to go in for monthly checkups.

The 66-year-old actor is set to begin shooting Steven Soderbergh's "Liberace" in May or June, with Douglas playing the title part. He's also nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps." - AP

Joo Ji-hoon signs with Keyeast

He’s not due out of the army until November of this year, but it looks like Joo Ji-hoon (Goong, Antique Bakery) is already preparing for his comeback. Army duty can do a lot to wash a slate clean; it’s the Korean equivalent of earning your stripes as a man, and when your public image is tainted, it does the double duty of serving as penance for crimes committed.

Joo has signed with Keyeast, Bae Yong-joon‘s management company, joining the likes of Kim Hyun-joong, Lee Na-young, Choi Kang-hee, and Lee Jia, just to name a few. I know it’s a management company’s job, and Bae Yong-joon is as much a brand name as it is a person, but I have this strange image in my mind of Bae Yong-joon collecting stars like little playthings. Perhaps his role in Dream High is coloring my impression. But if that drama’s confirmed one thing for me, it’s that Bae should stick to being the behind-the-scenes puppetmaster. There is no denying this man’s brilliance in turning stardom into cold hard cash, but his performance leaves a lot to be desired. And I say this having been on the bandwagon in the nineties. It just…ain’t 1998 anymore, is it?

Regardless, it’s all good things for Joo Ji-hoon fans, who can expect a fully-manned comeback, with lots of press and a slew of new projects. Time to start making your wish lists for the drama gods.

Jerry gets emotional over his ex, Lin Chi-Ling

Who knew? Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan has a soft side too.

On Dec 20 last year, Jerry attended the recording of Hunan TV's Happy Camp. He grew quiet when he saw the video clip of Lin Chi-Ling tearing when talking about him.

The host asked if he would embrace love bravely. Jerry, who had admitted to being rather childish, replied he "didn't know".

After the programme was aired on Jan 1, netizens left messages like "It's a different him, a more emotional Jerry Yan" on microblogging site Weibo.

Chi-Ling and Jerry appeared as guests on Happy Camp consecutively. In October last year, Chi-ling cried on the show. The model was touched by a paragraph regarding her in Jerry's book 9314 Man and Boy. She also talked about her relationship with Jerry for the first time.

"I am a simple girl after all. I longed for love, and I longed to be loved. I'm different now, I'll embrace love," said Chi-Ling, who seemed to treasure this past relationship.

When Jerry saw the video clip, he became quiet. When asked if he would embrace love courageously, he choked and said, "I am very childish at times, I want to be loved and cared for. However, for a girl, she would feel insecure. I still need to grow up."

The actor expressed that he talked about Chi-Ling in his book because she is really a good girl.

"When she told the public that I'm the only person in the world who treats her best, I know I have to become a better man. I let her go, because I really loved her; I know she would meet a better person," said Jerry.

He added he was childish in the past. He would love and care for a girl in his own ways, but did not consider if the other party liked it or not. After Jerry showed this softer side on television, fans praised him for "being different".

On the programme, Jerry was tested on how he would spend a monthly income of RMB$10,000 (RM4600). The actor revealed that apart from his handphone bills, he did not have any expenses.

Jerry explained that his colleagues usually organise his schedules, and thus he did not have any expenses. That would leave at least RMB$8,000 (RM3,700) for him to splurge on his girlfriend.

"I like buying things for my girlfriend. If the things I buy for her fills her room, she would be reminded of me each time she returns home," said Jerry.

Carina doesn't mind working with 'rival' Maggie

Contrary to popular belief, Carina Lau and Maggie Cheung are not enemies.

In fact, Lau, an established actress in Hong Kong, said that she does not mind collaborating with Cheung, who is now one of the most celebrated actresses in the international film scene.

For decades, the pair has been painted as rivals in love, as Lau’s husband, Hong Kong actor Tony Leung, was romantically linked to his frequent co-star Cheung, before he tied the knot with Lau in Bhutan.

You don’t have to say anything and the audience would be eager to watch the film.

“If one day a director gets a script that is right for Maggie and I, I think that’d be one heck of a movie,” she said.

Wonder no more. Ever popular Hong Kong superstar actor Andy Lau is swinging by Kuala Lumpur on January 19 to promote his latest film, Shaolin.

Andy will be accompanied by highly praised director, Benny Chan. whose impressive resume includes Rob-B-Hood, Divergence and New Police Story.

The awesome duo are scheduled to meet fans at 7.00pm on Jan 19 (Wed) at Centre Court, Level 2 of Pavilion KL.

She’s excited for her new album to drop in March and in the meantime Britney Spears has a hot new single on the way.

And despite the report from New York’s Z100 that “Hold It Against Me” was scheduled to release on January 7th, the “Baby One More Time” singer’s manager Adam Leber says nothing is in stone yet.

Leber tweeted, "Lot of misinformation out there regarding the release of Brits 1st single. Don't believe everything you read. Unless of course it's an official announcement coming in January. STAY TUNED....."

Secret Garden concert doubles as finale shoot

With its popularity soaring, weekend drama Secret Garden is planning an OST concert to be held next weekend, just in time for the drama’s finale. It will be held at the Children’s Park Dome Art Hall on January 15, and will feature performances by artists Baek Ji-young and 4Men, who are both on the soundtrack, as well as actors Yoon Sang-hyun and even Hyun Bin.

The drama’s soundtrack has been selling briskly online as well as offline; the first CD (OST parts 1 and 2) has sold out of its 30,000 copies. The second CD (parts 3 and 4) recorded nearly 30,000 pre-orders as soon as its release date, January 3, was announced. A part 5 is planned, which will feature Hyun Bin’s version of the song “That Man,” which already has two versions in circulation (one being “That Woman”).

My first thought was that it was odd timing to schedule the concert for broadcast night — great way to keep fans from watching, right? — but it appears they’ve got that covered. The concert runs from 8 to 10 pm, after which the roughly 2,000 attendees will be able to watch the 10 pm broadcast live.

The concert will be pulling double-duty, because footage from the Saturday night show will then be used in Sunday night’s finale broadcast. Talk about cutting it close with the live-shoot. (I know it’s common for a drama’s final episode to be shot a day or two before it airs, but I’ll never get over thinking that isn’t CRAZY.)

The pricing has drawn some disgruntled complaints, however, as many feel the 99,000 won price tag is too steep (close to $90 USD). Concert organizers countered by saying the quality of the show will be greater than ordinary pop concerts. (O rly?) But in the end, I suspect enough fans will be happy to pay up to get to see Yoon Sang-hyun and Hyun Bin in person.

Lee Seon-kyun expecting second child

Just over a year after becoming a father for the first time, Lee Seon-kyun, aka Chep, aka Mr. Voice, has announced that he and wife (actress Jeon Hye-jin) are expecting their second child.

As of the New Year’s Eve announcement by Lee’s management, Jeon is currently seven weeks pregnant and healthy. Their first child was born in November 2009, a son, just before shooting his drama hit early last year (last year!), workplace romantic-comedy Pasta. Prior to that, he was busy working on the drama Triple when he married, and now he’s busy filming King of Arrests, a comedy with Haeundae’s Park Joong-hoon.

And that’s on top of the bazillion projects he was involved in in the meantime, like a Drama Special segment with Hwang Woo-seul-hye, Oki’s Movie with Jung Yumi, Petty Romance with Choi Kang-hee… will the man never rest?

Kellan Lutz wants to "eat better" in 2011

Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz wants to stop sinking his teeth into candy.

The 25-year-old revealed that one of his 2011 resolutions is to “eat better” and to cut down on the intake of unhealthy food like candy and fast food.

"I keep saying I want to quit candy, and I slowly decrease the candy intake.

"I eat late at night all the time, and I want to cut that back – and get more sleep. I live right across from Jack in the Box, so that's not good," he told People magazine.
