SLIM RIVER: A two-year-old girl who went missing for more than 20 hours from about noon Tuesday was found safe in an oil palm smallholding three kilometres from her home.
Nor Aishah Umairah Zamzuri, of Kampung Lintah, Slim Village, here, was found standing in a muddy area crying, and calling out for her parents and grandparents at about 9am Wednesday. She was found by a search team comprising villagers and Fire & Rescue personnel led by Slim River Fire & Rescue Department chief Meor Mohd Ali Meor Husin.
The girl, who had mosquito bites on her body, was sent to the Slim River Hospital, Meor Mohd Ali said.
He said the Fire & Rescue Department was informed by the police of the missing girl at about 4pm and a team of 25 personnel started the search soon after.
“The search operation went on until 3am but there was no sign of the girl,” he said, adding that it was resumed at 8.30am.
The girl’s father, Zamzuri Mohd Salleh, 27, said he and his wife, both of whom work here, rushed to Slim Village after they were told that the toddler was missing by his mother-in-law.
He said his daughter went missing while playing in front of the house just before lunchtime.
Tanjung Malim Deputy OCPD DSP Anuar Osman said police did not suspect any foul play. - Bernama
